In collaboration with the Health Policy Futures Lab, the Partnership to Empower Physician-Led Care and West Health released a new issue brief and companion one-pager examining how data access, interoperability, and technology costs affect independent physician practices participating in value-based care. The analysis highlights the critical role independent practices play in delivering high-quality, lower-cost care, while identifying persistent data and technology challenges that can limit scalability and participation. Informed by expert convenings, the work outlines near-term policy and operational opportunities to improve data access and exchange, reduce administrative burden, and better align accountability with access to timely, actionable information in order to support a more effective and competitive value-based care system.
